Nicola McILwrick, a Port Moody Secondary School and Tri City Eagles field hockey player, was so inspired by the Women's National Team's 'Game for the Cure' in September that she decided to organize her own Game for the Cure in the Tri Cities area in November. The Game for the Cure - Tri Cities 2009 took place Sunday, November 22 at 12pm noon at Mobilio Field in Coquitlam, and featured a High School All Star team (2 players from each of the 10 Tri City area High Schools) versus a Tri City Eagles/Impact Womens
The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, released guidelines Dec. 19th on the Children's Fitness Tax Credit, which became effective on January 1, 2007.
The Minister confirmed that as recommended by the Expert Panel for the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit, the definition of eligible programs will support children’s participation in all programs that significantly contribute to their fitness.
