Sunday Game - Still on at this time

Posted by Michelle Harrison at Mar 8, 2019 8:46PM PST

Hi Gals,

Details: Sunday Game – March 10 – 12 Noon – Rutledge
Rutledge is currently open – however it is important to check the VWFHA website before you leave for the game (check 9:30am -ish) to ensure that the field is open, and cold temperatures do not make the field unplayable.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME starts this weekend so you will need to set your clocks FORWARD 1 hour Daylight Saving Time Starts 2:00am March 10th, and clocks are turned forward 1 hour to Sunday, March 10, 2019, 3:00am local daylight time instead.*

For those of you who are not joining us for the final game Sunday, Lisa, Amira and I wanted to THANK YOU so very much for your contributions to the team this year, and for your laughter and coachable spirit. We believe that you have all grown so much as players, as a team and as humans, and we look forward to seeing where you go, and what you do in the year ahead. We know that some of you will be moving onto other things in the fall, including perhaps post secondary, and or other higher level field hockey or other sport teams, and we wish you the most incredible amount of love and success in whatever you chose. For those of you who are looking to return in the fall, we look forward to seeing you at the Fall Assessments in late June. In the weeks to come, I will be sending a message to check in about fall league 2019/2020, and ask that you let me know what you want and what your plans are. Stay tuned!

See you Sunday,
Michelle, Lisa, and Amira.

Hi players and families,

PRACTICE CXLD – March 5th:
Due to a scheduling issue, the City has allocated our TC practice times for all teams to another sport user group for this week so this means no practices for any teams this week. Not an ideal scenario with a game to go, but there is nothing I, or the club can do at this stage.

FINAL GAME THIS WEEKEND – Sunday, Mar 10 @ Rutledge, 12:00noon, Eagles 3 vs Burnaby Bears 1
Well ladies, this is our final game. And yes, it is another Sunday game. Not ideal, as generally we are always short players for Sunday away games, but it is what it is. ALL PLAYERS will need to confirm availability (yes or no by text please) by END OF DAY WEDNESDAY MARCH 5th. If I don’t hear from you by this time, I will assume you are not coming to the game and will either call up replacement players if available, or if our numbers are as dismal as they were this past weekend, I will simply forfeit the game.

Kind thanks to players who have already given me advance notice of their availability. I appreciate it.

Thanks,
Michelle

Game CXLD- Saturday March 2ns

Posted by Michelle Harrison at Mar 2, 2019 8:57AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hi Team,
Game is CXLD. Fields are not playable. Please expect to play next weekend. Time and date to be confirmed.

Hi Team,

SATURDAY:
The City of Coquitlam is working hard to open TC fields for games tomorrow – but I will not get an update until after 8am tomorrow. Please know that I am sleeping at that time, and will likely send you an update after 9:30am. Stay tuned!

SUNDAY:
UBC and Rutledge are likely open. I will be checking updates until about 11:30am, but after that I am on the road and will not be messaging people back until I am at the field. Please check the VWFHA website before you leave for updates and any cancellations.

As a side note – I expect to hear from players by Wed of each week re: availability. It is not fun for me as a coach to see players cancel last minute, or the night before a game as this gives me next to no opportunity to call players up. I understand that we are all busy, and sometimes things come up – which I why at this division I carry a larger roster. Thank you to those players and families who have given me advance notice.

See you tomorrow – hopefully! Stay tuned!

Michelle
